The two-day BRICS Convention on Tourism was flagged off on September 1 in Khajuraho Madhya
Pradesh. The BRICS nations were represented by the Minister of Tourism, South Africa Mr. D.A. Hanekom and delegations from Russia and China.
The Environment Ministers of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) countries
meeting held on September 16, in Goa to strengthen mutual cooperation.
The sixth meeting of BRICS High Representatives responsible for security held at New Delhi. Shri
Ajit Doval, National Security Adviser, Government of the Republic of India presided over the  meeting.
India hosted the sixth Brics meeting on Agriculture and Agrarian Development and deliberate on
priority areas of cooperation between the five countries of the bloc. The two-day conference started with an official-level meeting to be followed by ministerial meeting the next day.
5th BIRAC Innovator’s Meet kick started with the theme – ‘Biotech Innovation Ecosystem –
Strategizing the Next Leap’in New Delhi. The event was attended by Chief Guest Hon’ble Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Harsh Vardhanand Guest of Honour, Hon’ble Minister of State (MoS), Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Shri YS Chowdary.
The Union government was organised a two-day BRICS Wellness workshop in Bengaluru. The
workshop to be held at Hotel Shangrila will be attended by delegates from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) to explore areas of mutual co-operation.
Two days India – US economic summit began in New Delhi on September 14 to provide a valuable
opportunity to assess developments across India-US trade relationship, economy and society. The summit is hosted by the chamber’s of North India council.
The three-day Investment Summit (IITIS) 2016 is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism,
Government of India in association with Tourism Finance Corporation of India (TFCI) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley inaugurated the summit in New Delhi.

The third Northeast Connectivity Summit held at the Pragya Bhavan at Agartala, Tripura to discuss
connectivity of the landlocked Northeast region that is surrounded by several foreign nations.
The 2016 G20 Hangzhou summit was the eleventh meeting of the Group of Twenty (G20). It was held
on 4–5 September 2016 in the city of Hangzhou. It was the first ever G20 summit to be hosted in China and the second Asian country after 2010 G20 Seoul summit was hosted in South Korea.It is noted that Barack Obama and Xi Jinping announced the ratification of the Paris Agreement of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference by their countries. After they did it, it is 26 countries which have ratified the agreement so far; the United States and China represent respectively 18 percent and 20 percent of global carbon dioxide emissions.
4th ASEAN-India Summit and the 11th East Asia Summit held in Vientiane, Laos PDR with the
invitation of H.E. Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister of Lao PDR. The Summits was attended by Heads of State/Government of the 10 ASEAN and 18 East Asia Summit Participating Countries respectively. In the margins, Prime Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with several leaders.
The 6th Edition of IUCN World Conservation Congress 2016 held in the Hawaiian capital, Honolulu
is hosted by the State of Hawaiʻi with the support of the Department of State of the USA.
The 2016 International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) World Congress will focus on the
theme “Planet at the Crossroads”.
17th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM summit) held in Venezuela. Vice President Hamid Ansari held
talks with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on a host of issues of mutual interest.
The US government had decided to become a partner country for the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat
Global Summit, which was prepared to be held in January 2017.
UN organized first-ever summit on movement of 65.3 million refugees and migrants. Global leaders
gathered for the first of two high-profile days of meetings on the issues of migration and refugees at the U.N. headquarters in New York. This meeting attempted to forge a global response to the plight of the 65.3 million people forcibly displaced worldwide.
The two-day meeting is arranged by the Indian Petroleum Companies to deliberate the need for an
LPG-enabled household and use of traditional cooking fuels in Bhubaneswar.
Tea Board of India and The United Planters Association of Southern India (Upasi) were jointly
conducted the India international Tea convention at Ooty in Nilgiris.The highlight of the convention would be the business session in which around 500 delegatesfrom around the world were expected to participate. There would be a special focus on south Indian teas. The tea that won the12th edition of golden leaf awards held in Dubai was featured at the event.
Sri Lankan Prime minister Ranil Wickremsinghe inaugurated the five day long 69th session of
WHO (World Health Organisation) Regional committee meeting at Colombo on 5 September 2016.In the Regional meeting all the 11 countries of South East Asia including India’s Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda took part in the event.
Shri J P Nadda led the yoga session at the 69th session of the WHO Regional Committee of SouthEast Asia Region at Colombo, Sri lanka.Nadda was accompanied by Health Ministers of several nations in the Yoga session and more than a hundred participants.
Sri Lanka worked with The South-East Asia Region of the World Health Organization (WHOSEARO). It is the first of WHO’s six regional outfits. WHO SEARO provided leadership on health
matters and relevant policy options and technical support.
Union Minister for Chemicals and Petrochemicals Anant Kumar has inaugurated INDIA-CHEM
2016 International Conference in Mumbai. The 3-day 9th Biennial International Exhibition and Conference begun in Mumbai includes 23 countries, 282 exhibitors alone. The Largest event of chemicals and petrochemicals industry in India in its 9 st rd edition, i.e. India Chem 2016, would be organized from 1 – 3 September 2016, jointly by Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India and FICCI.
The Odisha government in association with International Labor Organization(ILO) organised a twoday national conference on laborin Bhubaneswar.Union minister of state for labour and employment Bandaru Dattatreya and ministers and chairpersons of labour welfare boards of 29 states attended the conference.
First International Sikh Conclave started in Bihar, ahead of 350th birth anniversary celebration of
Guru Gobind Singh. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that the state government was organised this conclave ahead of the 350th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh guru, in Patna Sahib.
