Directions for Q. No. 1 to 9 : Study the following information carefully and then answer the questions given below it :
Following are the conditions for appointing Financial Analysts in an organization:                        (PNB Management Trainee 2003)
The candidate must:
A. be a graduate in any discipline with atleast 60% marks.
B. have one of the professional qualifications of CA/ICWA/MBA/Finance/CFA.
C. not be more than 30 years of age as on 1st May, 2003.
D. have passed the competitive written examination with atleast 50% marks.
E. have work experience of atleast 4 years.
In case of a candidate who fulfils all other criteria except at
I. B above. but has completed his/her Post graduation in commerce with atleast 55% marks. his/her case is to be referred to Director-Finance.
II. C above, but have obtained a Ph.D. degree after completing the Post-graduate professional qualification, his/her case is to be referred to the Managing Director.
In each of the questions below, detailed information of one candidate is provided. You have to read the information provided carefully and decide which of the following courses of action you will adopt regarding status of the candidate based on the conditions stated above. You are not to assume anything other than the information provided in each question. These cases are given to you as on 1st May, 2003. You have to indicate your decision by marking answers to each of the questions as follows:
Mark your answer as :
(a) if the candidate is not to be appointed.
(b) if the case is to be referred to Managing Director.
(c) if the candidate is to be appointed.
(d) if the case is to be referred to Director-Finance.

1. Suman Kankhare was born on 25th Aug, 1974. He has secured 55% and 65% in graduation and at the competitive written examination, respectively. He has completed his CA in 1997 and has been working since then in an organisation.

Following are the ‘Criteria for short-listing candidates for calling for interview for Management Trainees in an organisation:
The candidate must:
A. not be less than 21 years and more than 28 years as on 1st Nov, 2004.
B. have secured at least 60% marks in graduation.
C. have secured at least 65% marks in the preliminary selection examination.
D. have secure at least 55% marks in the final selection examination.
E. be ready to join work immediately after the interview.
In case of a candidate who fulfils all other criteria except:

A company has following Gratuity (G) and Provident Fund (PF) rules :
I. an employee must have completed one year’s service to be eligible for either G and PF.
II. an employee resigning or retiring or retrenched after ten years of service gets both CG)and CPF).
III. an employee retrenched or retiring after 5 years but before 10 years service gets both G and PF, but that resigning during this period gets either G and PF.
